My Momma always told me, “posture makes perfect” but what did that mean? She was telling me to stand up straight, stop slouching...does any of this sound familiar?
Well, when was the last time your coach told you to stand up straight? Our job as coaches is to help you in ALL aspects of your fitness and in order to do this, we need to address your posture. Each week we will include a bodybuilding inspired workout that is “not for time”. This workout will teach you the exercises necessary for you to improve your posture which will in-turn improve all your lifts. It's easy, show up for class and we will do the rest.
A. “Posture makes Perfect #1”
3 rounds of: 8 per side of 1-arm/DB Bent-Over-Row 8 per side/Standing Bent-Over DB Laterals 10 Upright Row to Face (LTBD) 8 seated Behind the Neck Press (LTBD)
B. Every minute for 20 minutes: 5 x Bulgarian Split Squats with Dumbbells. Alternate legs each minute. *Compare to 02/25/16.
C. Mobility 101 @ 10:00am: Point of Interest: Thoracic Spine
D. Strength 101 @ 6:00pm:
1) Snatch Lift-Off 2) Snatch High-Pull
3) Snatch Long-Pull (a.k.a. Muscle Snatch) *Each exercise will be 5x3. *Establish proper technique and start to build load. Record strengths/weaknesses for each exercise regarding technique and loads used.
